THESE BYLAWS, ACCEPTED AND APPROVED BY MOHAWK VALLEY MUDCRAWLERS JEEP CLUB.
ARTICLE I – NAME
SECTION 1. This organization shall be known as Mohawk Valley Mudcrawlers.
ARTICLE II – OBJECTIVES
SECTION 1. Mohawk Valley Mudcrawlers is a nonprofit organization for the purpose of:
a. Providing social, educational, and recreational activities for its members
b. Participating in and supporting civic activities for the betterment of the community.
c. Promote safe and sensible operation of Jeep vehicles, both on and off-road.
ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
SECTION 1. Owners of Jeep vehicles are eligible for membership in MVMC.
SECTION 2. Each membership includes the immediate family, however, voting power is restricted to that of the member.
SECTION 3. All members must conduct themselves in a respectable and orderly fashion whether in or out of club activities. MVMC will not tolerate any discrediting action from its membership, including offensive use of alcohol. Use of illegal drugs will not be tolerated, and subject to revocation of membership.
SECTION 4. All applicants for membership must be 18 years of age, must hold a valid driver license, and must show minimum insurance coverage on their vehicle.
SECTION 5. Applicants for membership must attend, in their own vehicle, two club meetings prior to final approval. The Board of Directors may make exceptions for applicants who are unable to attend two club events before membership can be considered. Each applicant will properly fill out membership form, to be submitted to the club Secretary, before membership can be accepted. Upon fulfillment of requirements, each applicant shall be reviewed and voted on, by the Board of Directors. Applicants must be accepted by two-thirds majority vote.
SECTION 6. Dues for membership shall be ($20.00) twenty dollars, due and payable at first club meeting of the new year. Any member whose dues are not paid by first club ride will be dropped from the rolls of the club.
SECTION 7. All personal expenses such as uniform, equipment, fuel, etc., shall be borne by each individual and not be financed by the club.
SECTION 8. These bylaws may be amended by two-thirds vote at a regular club membership meeting. Any amendment to the bylaws must be presented to the membership at a meeting proceeding in which the vote is taken.
ARTICLE IV – MEETINGS
SECTION 1. Meetings of the membership of Mohawk Valley Mudcrawlers shall be held a minimum of one meeting per month. Each member will be notified of place and time prior to the meeting.
ARTICLE V – ADMINISTRATION AND OFFICERS
SECTION 1. The officers of Mohawk Valley Mudcrawlers shall consist of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, and shall be known as the Executive Committee. It shall be their duty to draw up and agenda for all the Board and members.
SECTION 2. The Board shall consist of the Executive Committee, and the Founding Members. Duties of the Board shall be to conduct the day-to-day business, to take such actions that might best fulfill the aims of this club.
SECTION 3. The founding members are, Daryl Scibior and Rick Zurek.
ARTICLE VI – DUTIES AMINISTRATION AND OFFICERS
SECTION 1. The president shall preside over the members and shall carry out the policies and decisions of the members.
SECTION 2. The Vice President in the absence of the President shall serve in that capacity.
SECTION 3. The Secretary shall keep and preserve all records and minutes of the meetings.
SECTION 4. The Treasurer shall keep accurate and complete records of the financial transactions of the Club.
ARTICLE VII – EXPENDITURES AND FINANCE
SECTION 1. All monies received from all sources shall immediately be turned over to the Treasurer.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors shall approve all expenditures and matters concerning the club finances. All expenditures over $100.00 shall be approved by a majority vote of members present at a regular general meeting.
ARTICLE VIII- ELECTIONS
SECTION 1. The membership shall meet and nominate officers for each calendar year at the September meeting. Nominations shall close and elections held at the October meeting. The newly elected officers shall take office at the first January meeting. Voting shall be in person or be e-mail.
SECTION 2. Officers shall serve successive terms if elected.
ARTICLE IX – EVENTS
SECTION 1. All events shall be subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
SECTION 2. All members, including the Executive Committee, are responsible to the direction of the appointed Trial Master.
SECTION 3. All events must be conducted in an orderly manner and with safety as the prime factor. Any event held on private property will be subject to liability release.
SECTION 4. Anyone determined to be physical or mentally disturbed, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, at anytime of an event shall be disqualified. Vehicles may be subject to vehicle inspections varying according to the type of event and shall be disqualified if found mechanically unsafe. We agree that there be no act at any club event or outgoing that will endanger the life of any one present.
Safety requirements and recommendations:
a. Each vehicle shall be equipped with a First Aid Kit.
b. A fire extinguisher shall be in each vehicle. A 2- ½ lb. ABC rated, dry chemical fire extinguisher with operative pressure gauge is recommended.
c. Each vehicle will be equipped with tow hooks in front and a solid tow point in rear.
d. Each vehicle should have a citizen band (CB) radio.
e. Each vehicle will carry tow straps.
f. Minimum tire size is 30”.
SECTION 5. All members and guest participating in an event shall abide by the Motor Vehicle Code of the State concerned and by the laws and regulations of the city, county, or the circumstances involved. The welfare and reception of the club depends upon the character it gains with the city, county, state, and federal authorities. We are not irresponsible drivers. Any flagrant violation of the codes is sufficient cause for revocation of membership, subject to a decision by the Board of Directors.
ARTICLE X – MOHAWK VALLEY MUDCRAWLERS EMBLEM/LOGO
SECTION 1. The Mohawk Valley Mudcrawlers emblem is round, approx 4” in diameter. The club name is written on the outer loop, with a front Jeep grill with tires in the middle.
SECTION 2. The Mohawk Valley Mudcrawlers logo is approx 4”x 5”. MVMC is written on a slope with a Jeep climbing up them. Mohawk Valley Mud Crawlers is written underneath it.
